Work Ethics: 20 Ideas for 2020 and Beyond
A6 / 54 Pages

All profits from the first edition to be donated equally to The Black Curriculum and the Sunrise Movement.
2020 marks the true start of the 21st Century. The COVID-19 pandemic has smashed the global framework: we now stand in the rubble of ground zero. As millions of people have lost jobs, shuttered businesses, and been forced to rethink their career paths entirely, it has become clear that the rules of the old world no longer apply. The way that we worked wasn’t working, and it’s never going to work again.
To move forward, we need new values for the way we think about our jobs, ourselves, and, crucially, our relationship to each other. This starts with letting go of the work ethic - an unquestioning, deeply ingrained belief in work’s inherent moral value - and replacing it with an ethics of work to guide our efforts in a new and uncertain world.
Organised around five key principles - freedom, care, simplicity, service, and creativity - Work Ethics offers a framework for thinking about the real work that the world is asking of us right now.
